Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA or CommBank), established in 1911, is the largest bank in Australia by total assets and market capitalization as well as number one in home lending, household deposits and credit cards. CBA currently has over 16 million customers, 740 domestic branches/services centres and about 1,950 ATMs, with approximately 40% of branches based in regional Australia. CBA employs over 49,000 people and provides a comprehensive range of award-winning products and services including personal and business loans, mortgages, current and savings accounts, term deposits, corporate and institutional banking, premier and private banking, asset and wealth management, equipment and car finance, insurance, superannuation, investments, brokerage services, mobile and online banking, credit and debit cards, foreign exchange and more. The insurance products include home, contents, health, car, life and travel Insurance. Income protection is provided by AIA Australia. Commonwealth Bank has international offices in New York, London, Tokyo, Auckland, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore, among others. All branches support international money transfers and travel money card services. At December 31, 2023, CBA had $1.28 trillion in total assets, $873 billion in deposits, $927 billion in total group lending and $72.8 billion in shareholders' equity. Commonwealth Bank's shares are listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
