IMB Bank, a trading name of IMB Ltd, is one of the largest mutual financial institutions in Australia with about 210,000 customers and branch offices in New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT. The company provides a wide suite of high quality financial products and services including transaction and savings accounts, personal and home lending, car loans, credit and debit cards, refinancing, term deposits, financial planning, online banking, mobile app, foreign cash and telegraphic transfers. It also offers business loans, business accounts, merchant services, payroll facilities, asset and debtor financing, and treasury options. IMB insurance products include car, home, travel and caravan insurance, among others. Founded in 1880, the company was formerly known as Illawarra Mutual Building Society and became a mutual bank in 2015. In 2016 and 2020, IMB merged with Sutherland Credit Union Ltd and Newcastle-based Hunter United Employees Credit Union, respectively. For the year ended June 30, 2022, IMB Bank reported total assets of $7.1 billion, member deposits of $6.1 billion and profit after tax of $29.5 million. Today the company employs approximately 520 people.
