Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), based in Auckland, is one of the four largest banks in the country. With about 5,000 employees, 150 branches and 600 ATMs, it provides a wide array of financial services to individuals, small and start-up businesses, medium and large companies, agricultural and farming enterprises and institutional clients. It offers transaction and savings accounts, personal and home loans, credit cards, property investment, private banking, portfolio investment entities (PIEs), KiwiSaver Scheme, online banking, BNZ mobile app, foreign exchange, international payments, foreign currency accounts and foreign currency term deposits. BNZ inurance products include home, contents, boat and car insurance as well as travel, health and life insurance. It also offers asset and trade finance, invoice finance, business cards, asset protection, liability and commercial insurance, specialized finance, advisory services, transactional banking, loan syndications, capital markets and more. The company was established in 1861 and is headquartered at Queen Street, Auckland. In 1992, BNZ became part of the National Australia Bank. As at 31 March 2023, Bank of New Zealand had $126.5 billion in total assets, $79 billion in deposits, $101 billion in customer loans and $11.3 billion in total shareholders’ equity.
