The Capricornian

The Capricornian Ltd is an Australian credit union with seven branches located across Central Queensland. With about 70 employees, it offers a wide range of financial services to personal and business customers including transaction and savings accounts, term deposits, personal and home loans, auto loans, refinancing, Visa debit cards as well as business accounts, business lending, chattel mortgage, merchant services, leasing, online and mobile banking, international payments, foreign exchange, investments and more. Its insurance products include home, contents and landlords insurance as well as car, boat, caravan, motorcycle, travel and commercial insurance. The company was established in 1959 under the name the Park Avenue Parish Credit Co-operative Society Ltd and changed its name to Capricornia Credit Union Ltd in 1981. In 2009, it was rebranded as The Capricornian Ltd. As at 30 June 2020, the company reported interest revenue of $13.3 million, profit after tax of $1.7 million, total assets of $366 million, loans of $292 million, members' deposits of $335 million and total equity of $27 million.
