ECU Australia Ltd (Electricity Credit Union) provided financial products and services to employees and their families in the electricity supply industry. It offered everyday transaction, savings and investment accounts, home, personal and car loans, business accounts and business lending, credit and debit cards, mobile and phone banking, internet banking as well as home, contents and car insurance, landlords and loan protection insurance, travel insurance, and international payment services. ECU Australia served over 13,000 Australians through 19 branches and member service centres. The credit union was founded in 1973 and is open to all Australian residents. As of 30 June 2016, it had total assets of $340.7 million, customer loans of $285 and deposits of $311 million. Net tier 1 capital was over $20 million at February 2017.
In September 2017, ECU Australia was acquired by Queensland Country Credit Union (QCCU) .
