The company was established in 1982 and is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. In May 2012, Goldfields Money was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. It was one of only three formerly mutual organizations listed on the ASX. For the financial year ended 30 June 2020, it had total net revenue of $38.4 million, profit after tax of $5.3 milion, deposits of $346 million, loans of $284 million, total assets of $839 million, and total equity of $113 million. Currently the company is part of BNK Banking Corp. In 2021, it started the process of wind down the Goldfields Money brand and replacing it with BNK Bank.
