The company is an authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI) providing financial products and services with great interest rates and no monthly fees. It offers transaction and savings accounts, joint accounts, Visa debit cards, home loans, payment solutions as well as simple, digital application process. It plans to add new account types such as an investment and superannuation. The Bank doesn’t charge you for everyday use of your pay account. Domestic ATM withdrawals are free. The only fees are associated with international payments and international ATM withdrawals. The customers have access to Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, FitBit Pay and Garmin Pay. Deposits are guaranteed up to $250K per account holder under the Australian Government’s Financial Claims Scheme. The Bank is primarily owned by Cuscal Limited as well as fund managers, Australian superannuation fund, wealthy persons and family offices. 86 400 was the first neobank to obtain a full banking licence from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) in 2019. 86 400 Ltd was founded in 2017 and today employs over 120 people serving about 90,000 customers. The company’s main competitors are Volt Bank, Up Money, Xinja and Judo Bank.

In 2021, National Australia Bank (NAB) purchased 86 400 for $220 million, and will combine it with its own UBank, a pioneering digital bank serving over 600,000 customers.
